Backup & disaster recovery

Your data, whatever happens

A failed disk, an overwritten file, ransomware encrypting your server: on the day you need to restore, an untested backup is worthless. We set up verified backups and a proven disaster recovery plan (DRP) for SMEs in the Alpes-Maritimes and across the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur). You know in advance what you will get back, and how long it will take.

Which backup solution is right for your business?

We start with two simple questions. How much data can you afford to lose: a day’s work, an hour? That is your RPO (recovery point objective). How quickly do you need to be up and running again: half a day, two hours? That is your RTO (recovery time objective). These two answers set the backup frequency and the architecture you need.

  • Off-site backup: encrypted copies stored at a site separate from your infrastructure, following the 3-2-1 rule (three copies, two types of media, one copy off-site).
  • Immutable copies: some backups cannot be changed or deleted during their retention period, even by an attacker who has taken over your servers.
  • Backup monitoring: every failure is detected and dealt with through our IT monitoring, rather than discovered on the day you need the backup.

A disaster recovery plan that is tested, not just written

A DRP sets out who does what, and in what order, to get the business running again after a major outage, a disaster or an attack. It is only worth something if it has been rehearsed.

  • Restore tests: scheduled restores check that your data is intact and measure the actual recovery time. Each test produces a report: the procedure followed, the result and the improvements to make.
  • Failover to a remote site: if your business cannot wait for the main site to be repaired, your servers are replicated to a backup site. Failover is tested and documented, including any blockers found, to save precious time on the real day.
  • Prioritised scenarios: server failure, ransomware, loss of your premises. Each scenario is written down, ranked by impact and rehearsed with your teams.

Backup is the last line of defence. To reduce the risk of an attack in the first place, see our cybersecurity services.

Tools: Veeam, VMware, virtual machine replication, off-site storage.

Let’s review your current backups together: knowing what they can really restore is often a good place to start.
